Heat Treated Wooden Pallets
Six Hills Pallets Ltd always carry a large stock of heat treated wooden pallets.
What is ISPM15? The International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures, publication number 15 - Regulation of wood packaging material (WPM) in international trade. For export to countries outside the E U all wooden pallets have to conform to ISPM15 regulations and requirements. The authority for this is the forestry commission and the ISPM15 treatment for pallets means they are heat treated to a certain temperature to remove any infestation of bugs or disease.
Heat Treated pallets are legally required when exporting internationally using wooden pallets. This is to prevent the spread inspection of wood boring insects across borders, which are a major risk to forestry and woodlands. To achieve this safety standard a process of keeping the wood's core temperature at 56 degrees for at least 30 minutes is used.
